Downtown Foley just got a little more island flavor. A new spot called Yawdie has opened its doors serving up authentic Jamaican cuisine with dishes like jerk chicken, oxtail, and other Caribbean favorites, available with sides of beans and rice. It’s the kind of place where you can feel like you traveled to the islands, without ever leaving Baldwin County. If you’re looking to mix up your usual lunch or dinner rotation, this one might be worth checking out. ya mon
Looks like the word is getting out (again). Orange Beach just earned a shout-out in Travel + Leisure’s list of some of the best beaches along the Gulf Coast, thanks to those wide stretches of sugar-white sand and that easygoing coastal vibe we all appreciate. Of course, folks who live or vacation here already know that, but it’s fun to see our little stretch of sand getting a national nod. top 10 beaches
If you thought spelling hard words was tricky back in school, now try it with a drink in your hand. The Boozy Bee is buzzing back to the legendary Flora-Bama, where contestants take on a spelling bee with a twist. Expect some confident misspellings and plenty of laughs as participants see if their vocabulary can keep up with their beverages. Right now, I’m finalizing the artwork and hope to have a mockup for you to take a peek at very soon. Once that’s finished, it will take a few more weeks to get them.
