If you've ever needed an excuse to head to Bon Secour on a Friday night, here it is. The Tin Top Restaurant & Oyster Bar was recently named home to the best prime rib in Alabama by national food blog Mashed.com, calling it "worthy of planning your entire week around." The Friday-night special features a premium-aged 14-ounce prime rib served with au jus, horseradish sauce, and two sides. Hurricane season has officially started and runs through November 30th. While there's nothing brewing out there right now, local officials say now is the time to dust off the hurricane kit, double-check your evacuation plans, and make sure you're stocked up on the essentials before a storm has Publix looking like the day before Thanksgiving. JUNE BOOK PICK
The book lovers have spoken! An overwhelming 97% of you said you would either read the book or read the monthly recap, so it looks like we’re starting a summer reading corner. I hereby christen thee the Book Crew!
Honestly, I’m not much of a reader. It’s been a while since I’ve read a book… like a long while. Fortunately, I have a sweet wife who’s an avid book reader. She typically reads over 200 books a year so I’ve begged persuaded her to do the book picks for us. You’ll be in much better hands — I promise!
